Abbotswell Welding Services were struck by the dreaded Sasser Virus as were a lot of business large and small. After several attempts to fix the problem their machine was rendered unusable.

The Client
Abbotswell Welding Services are an Aberdeen based steel fabrication company that provide their services to the major oil companies operating in Aberdeen. Situated in Aberdeen's harbour area they are placed to service their client base

The Problem
Abbotswell Welding Services were struck down by the Sasser A Worm, after several attempts to fix the problem themselves, they decide to call in the experts

The Solution
RTFM responded to their request for help immediately and performed their clean up service on all infected machines. It was found that Abottswell's machines did not have the the XP firewall enabled thus allowing the worm to infect their machines, they were also missing Critical Windows updates. RTFM installed all critical updates and configured each machine to automatically download and install them automatically and enabled the XP firewall

RTFM also installed an ADSL Modem/Router/Firewall to share their ADSL connection and to also create their own internal network for File and Print sharing. RTFM now provide Abbotswell with ad-hoc support.
